Come and learn about this ancient tradition of contemplative prayer which seeks God in silence and stillness – beyond word and thought. The weekly one-hour meeting includes a recorded talk by Benedictine Monk John Main, instruction on how to meditate and 25 minutes of silent meditation, followed by a question period. All are welcome.
Evening Prayer is about 30 minutes of contemplative worship. Evening Prayer, sometimes called Vespers, is part of The Liturgy of the Hours or Divine Office. Through the singing of psalms and hymns, the proclamation of scripture, the praying of intercessions and the recitation of The Lord’s Prayer community members come together to praise and thank God for the gifts of the day. Like the Mass, Liturgy of the Hours is the public and common prayer of the Church. All are welcome.
